Principal’s Weekly Message
August 30, 2024
Dear Morse Pond families,
We are so excited to meet our new and returning students on September 3rd! Classrooms are prepared and the school is shining, but the only thing missing is the smiling faces of our students. This year will be a wonderful adventure in learning during this incredible time of growth for children. We look forward to partnering with you to create an excellent school community.
*Arrival and Drop Off: Bus schedules can be found on the district website. If you are driving your child to school, or picking them up in the afternoon, you will be able to enter the driveway at Morse Pond after buses clear.
Vehicle morning arrival time: 8:20
Vehicle afternoon arrival time: 3:05
We truly appreciate everyone’s patience during the arrival and dismissal times. Jones Road can be very busy with traffic and our crossing guard will try to get everyone into the driveway as quickly as possible. Please do not park along Jones Road, in the Royal Nursing driveway, or in the entrance to the Grasmere neighborhood while waiting for buses to clear.
*Bus passes: No bus passes will be issued during the month of September for students to ride a bus different from their own. In addition, the following buses cannot accept passes, until further notice, due to the large number of regular riders:
LAW/MP BUS 1
LAW/MP BUS 4
LAW/MP BUS 19
LAW/MP BUS 24
LAW/MP BUS 2
*Meet Your Teacher Night: Parents, guardians and students are all invited to attend this event on September 25 beginning at 6:30. More information will follow. As part of the evening, your child will give you a tour of their classroom and you will view a presentation from the classroom teacher. This event is not intended to be an individual conference about your child. Conferences will be held later in the term as we near the first report card.
*Say Something: Falmouth High, Lawrence School and Morse Pond all participate in the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System. What is the purpose of the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System? The Say Something Anonymous Reporting System is a platform and safe space for students and concerned adults to provide information about individuals threatening or displaying at-risk behaviors for potential violence or self-harm. Please see the attached documents for more information.
*Boosterthon Fundraiser: Our annual Morse Pond PTO fundraiser is just around the corner! Our Boosterthon event will begin on September 13. More information will be coming soon! The money that we raise will go directly to teachers and enrichment programs this year.
*School Counselors Update: Parents and Guardians are invited to attend Grief 101 on September 12 at 6-8pm at the Falmouth Public Library. Please see the enclosed flyer. Falmouth Public Schools is a proud co-sponsor of this important event.
