Reminder from the Falmouth Recreation Department RE: School Half Day Program for Grades 5-8

The next Recreation Department’s School Half Day program for 5th-8th graders will be Tuesday, October 22nd.

1. Pre-Registration Required: beginning this school year, the Recreation Center will no longer offer drop-in services for students on school half days. Students will need to be pre-registered to attend on these days. The program is free and you can register NOW on myrec: https://falmouthma.myrec.com/info/activities/default.aspx

2. Supervised Stay: Once students arrive at the Recreation Center for school half day programming, they will be required to stay in the building until an authorized adult signs them out, at or before 4PM.

3. Gymnasium Closure: Please note that the gymnasium is still closed for new floor installation. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to improve our facilities.

If you have any questions or need assistance with the pre-registration process, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

*Policy Reminder:  Use of personal electronic devices, such as cell phones, laptops, iPods, SMART watches is not permitted during school hours and during detention, unless under the direct instruction of a teacher or an IEP accommodation is being met and the device is being used for instructional purposes. Students bringing such devices to school for the above stated purposes do so at their own risk, and the school is not responsible for attempting to retrieve lost or stolen property.  We ask that SMART watches, just like cell phones, be kept in backpacks during the day.

*For 6th Grade families:  The Lawrence School will be holding its annual 6th Grade Family Information Night on Wednesday, November 6th at 6:30pm.  We invite all 6th grade students and families to this event as an opportunity to tour the school and learn more about what Lawrence has to offer for the upcoming school year.  As the date of this event approaches, we will share additional information.  We look forward to showcasing the Lawrence School, and hope everyone will join us at Family Information Night.

*Community Forums:   Community Forums to discuss the vision for the future of Falmouth Public Schools are being held throughout the district.  All are welcome to attend.  More information can be found using this link:  https://www.falmouth.k12.ma.us/future
